iOS 18.2 Brings The AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Test To Nine More Countries

The upcoming iOS 18.2 update brings expanded hearing health features for AirPods Pro 2 to nine more countries, Apple has announced.

These include Cyprus, Czechia, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. This feature, which initially launched in the U.S. and select countries in October, is designed to help users assess their hearing health.

The AirPods Pro 2 hearing test is a five-minute evaluation that measures an adult’s ability to hear different sound frequencies. After completing the test, users receive a hearing loss classification along with recommended next steps if any issues are identified.

In addition to the hearing test, iOS 18.2 introduces the ability to use AirPods Pro 2 as a clinical-grade hearing aid in the United Arab Emirates, expanding access to this valuable feature.

To access the hearing health tools, your AirPods Pro 2 must be running firmware version 7B19 or later. Firmware updates are installed automatically while your AirPods are charging and within Bluetooth range of a connected device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or Mac on Wi-Fi.

Apple has already released the final beta version, known as the Release Candidate, to developers. The update is expected to roll out to the public next week, so keep an eye out for the official release.
