IISR to host national symposium SYMSAC XI in Kozhikode on Jan 7-9

ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR), Kozhikode is all set to host the 11th National Symposium on Spices and Aromatic Crops (SYMSAC XI) from January 7 to 9 in Kozhikode.

The event is being organized by the Indian Society for Spices (ISS), in collaboration with Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode, Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development, Kozhikode, National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer, and Spices Board, Kochi.

With a focus on Strategies for Smart Production, Product Diversification, and Utilization,” SYMSAC XI will bring together over 200 participants from across the country including scientists, researchers, students, farmers and industry leaders. The symposium aims to foster critical dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of spices and aromatic crops, addressing some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the sector today.

SYMSAC XI will feature a Smart Farming Technology Exhibition, where institutions and stakeholders exhibit their range of products and technologies. This will offer an opportunity for participants to explore the latest developments and foster partnerships between research institutions, farmers, and industry stakeholders.

A Farmer-Scientist-FPO-Industry Interface is also scheduled as part of the symposium, aimed at bridging the gap between research and practice. This platform will facilitate knowledge exchange and discussions on strategies for scaling up innovations in the spice sector, benefiting farmers and industry professionals alike.
