Japan Airlines faces cyberattack disrupting flights and ticket sales

Japan Airlines Co. said it’s experiencing issues with its systems due to a cyberattack that could impact local and international flights.

The airline has had to halt its ticket sales due to the incident. The issues started early Thursday morning, the carrier said in an emailed statement.

Shares in JAL fell as much as 2.5% in Tokyo trading. 

On Christmas Eve, American Airlines Group Inc. said that a technical issue with DXC Technology Co., a third-party vendor that maintains the carrier’s flight-operating systems, caused a brief ground stop on all US flights. That halt lasted for about an hour.
