Trump Appoints David O. Sacks as White House A.I. and Crypto Czar

Trump appoints David O. Sacks as White House A.I. and Crypto Czar to lead U.S. policy on AI, cryptocurrency, and digital regulation.

President-elect Donald Trump has named David O. Sacks as the “White House A.I. & Crypto Czar.” This move is part of his strategy to reshape U.S. policy on technology and innovation. Sacks was previously the Chief Operating Officer at PayPal. He will be involved in the decision-making process about artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency by the administration.

While serving in this position, Sacks will be involved in policies that make America continue to enjoy its position as a world power in artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. Says Trump, Sacks will concentrate on the freedom of speech, particularly on the social media platforms and the control of the big tech. Sacks will also strive to create laws for the sector to operate; this is something that the crypto industry has been looking for—that is the regulatory framework. Moreover, he will chair the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump announced the appointment of David O. Sacks on December 6th. The president-elect emphasized this position. He said that Sacks’s leadership will assist in maintaining America’s relevance and ensure fair digital policies.

Sacks PayPal Background Enhances His Role as AI and Crypto Czar

Sacks has much experience that could be useful to the company. His experience in Paypal and his venture capitalist background qualify him for the job. Moreover, he is expected to address issues in artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency regulation. This appointment depicts a change to a more strategic approach to these dynamic disciplines.

This comes after Trump put forward Paul Atkins for the position of the next SEC Chairman. Further, Atkins was an SEC commissioner between 2002 and 2008, having been appointed by President George W. Bush. He is associated with the fight for transparency and protection of shareholders’ interests. Currently, Trump’s nominee, Atkins, who is the chief executive officer of Patomak Global Partners, a risk management and regulation consultancy firm, shows that Trump is keen on experienced individuals.

On the other hand, the Trump administration is in the process of creating a crypto advisory council. This group will participate in the formulation of legislation concerning cryptocurrencies and in the harmonization of regulations across various agencies. It may also evaluate strategies such as a Bitcoin reserve. Meanwhile, these attempts are intended to establish a favorable climate for cryptocurrency in the United States.

Ultimately, Sacks’s appointment is one of the ways through which Trump seeks to protect America’s interest in digital finance. It indicates a more targeted and somewhat better approach to emerging technologies.
