Spandana Sphoorty shares surge 12% in strong market rally 

Shares of Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited jumped 12.15 per cent to ₹449.10 on January 8, 2025, marking its biggest single-day gain in ten weeks. The microfinance company’s stock opened at ₹404.00 and reached an intraday high of ₹463.95, with trading volumes of 76.31 lakh shares valued at ₹342.80 crore.

The surge comes after the stock’s previous significant rally on October 29, when it rose from ₹383.35 to ₹418.95. The company, with a market capitalization of ₹3,202.31 crore, has seen considerable volatility in recent months, trading between a 52-week high of ₹1,243.20 (recorded on January 12, 2024) and a low of ₹305.20 (on December 26, 2024).

The day’s trading saw a deliverable quantity of 23.23 per cent of traded shares, with an impact cost of 0.08. The stock currently carries an applicable margin rate of 22.79 per cent and trades within a price band of ₹320.40 to ₹480.50.
