Numeros Motors to open bookings for its E2W and unveil a new platform

Numeros Motors, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up, will begin bookings for its first electric two-wheeler immediately following its unveiling at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The company will also introduce a new platform at the event, reinforcing its ambition to become a multi-platform, multi-variant leader in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

The company prepares to unveil its new electric scooter, Diplos Max, built on the Diplos platform, at the Delhi Expo event in January. Two variants, Diplos Max and Diplos Pro, will be launched from the same platform. Bookings for the vehicles will open right after the event, with production slated to begin soon at its Narasapura manufacturing facility near Bengaluru, which has an annual capacity of 70,000 units.

The new electric scooter underwent an extensive testing journey over the past two years. “We conducted India’s largest pilot program, covering 13.9 million km under extreme conditions—from the scorching deserts of Jaisalmer to the humid climate of Goa. This rigorous testing has validated the product’s performance, making it one of the most reliable and durable options in the EV market,” Shreyas Shibulal, Founder and CEO of Numeros Motors told businessline.

The company plans to produce 10,000 vehicles in its first year, with its strategically located facility near Tier 1 suppliers ensuring both quality and efficiency. For battery packs, Numeros Motors has partnered with a Tier 1 supplier for assembly, while the cells, like most in the industry, are imported. “As local manufacturing of cells scales up, we will explore opportunities to increase indigenisation,” he stated.

Numeros Motors, which employs about 250 professionals, is in the process of building its distribution network, with 45 dealerships it is expected to open by March 2025 and plans to expand to 170 dealerships by March 2026. Initially, the company will focus on Tier 1 cities, with plans to extend to Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets within a year. “Wherever we operate, we will ensure a comprehensive service capability to support our customers,” Shibulal assured.

In addition to the Diplos series, the company will also unveil its second platform, eKahi, at the Expo. Set for launch in April or May 2025, eKahi will prioritise utility and versatility, differentiating itself from conventional scooter platforms. Looking further ahead, Numeros Motors plans to introduce a passenger carrier variant by 2027, further expanding its portfolio.
