Gamers can’t fathom how 6x CEO Elon Musk found time to best Diablo IV

On October 16 and November 20, Elon Musk tweeted videos of himself clearing the highest level of the Diablo IV video game in about 2 minutes.

While Diablo IV has been out since mid-2023, the latest “season,” called The Pit, launched on October 7. Many asked: How did he find the time to do it so quickly? So The Wall Street Journal investigated, noting Musk is currently CEO of six companies, including Tesla, where he’s in a legal battle over his enormous pay package. A top player told the WSJ that besting The Pit that fast should have involved all-day play.

If Musk didn’t play all day, speculation ranged that he could have used a known glitch or somehow bought advantages, the WSJ reported. But others think that Musk’s brain, which he’s said is on the spectrum, is simply especially gifted at gaming. Whatever the reason, Musk boasts he’s one of the worlds’ best players of the game and an informal leaderboard shows that’s true.
