India’s state-owned oil and gas giant Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) announced a significant recruitment initiative today for 80 Class I executive positions at the E1 level across engineering and geoscience disciplines.

The positions, advertised under Advertisement No. 1/2025, offer an approximate CTC of ₹25 lakhs.

The recruitment drive spans multiple disciplines, including 10 positions in geosciences and 70 in engineering. The engineering vacancies are spread across various specializations: 53 positions in Production (mechanical, petroleum, and chemical), 29 in Drilling (mechanical and petroleum), and 16 in mechanical and electrical roles.

Candidates will be selected through a computer-based test (CBT), followed by group discussions and personal interviews.

The CBT, scheduled tentatively for February 23, 2025, will assess candidates on domain knowledge, general awareness, aptitude, and English language skills. The final selection will weigh CBT scores at 85 per cent and interview performance at 15 per cent.

The application process opens on January 10, 2025, and closes on January 24, 2025. ONGC has set up test centers across 19 cities, including major metros like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.

The recruitment specifically targets recent graduates, with age limits varying by post and category. For engineering positions, the general category age limit is 26 years, while for geoscience posts, it’s 27 years, with relaxations for reserved categories.

Candidates must possess minimum 60 per cent marks in their qualifying degrees. The company has emphasized that only regular mode qualifications approved by statutory bodies will be accepted. Registration fees are set at ₹1,000 for General/EWS/OBC categories, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempt from fees.

Selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India or abroad, subject to clearing ONGC’s medical examination standards.
