Cloudflare, one of the companies that helps the run the internet has released its year in review detailing some interesting internet statistics.

From the key finding section there are expected results like Google being the most popular internet service and ChatGPT being the most popular generative AI tool. But it also mentions that SpaceX’s Starlink worldwide satellite internet service grew 3.3x in 2024. In countries where Starlink is one of the only internet providers growth has been even more rapid. For instance the company claims that 55 percent of Canadians use iOS and 45 percent use Android. That said, Chrome is still the top browser with 58 percent of the market, while Safari is in second place with 22.7 percent.

The company also says that the average Canadian internet download speed is 207mbps, but when you look at the graph is does appear that a ton of users are still between 50-100mbps.
