Freedom Mobile discounts top plans, now offers $35/60GB

Until March 3, Freedom Mobile is slashing $4 off most of its mobile plans, offering even lower prices on excellent North American roaming plans. You can get these plans if you buy a phone from Freedom or bring your own device.

The plan I’d recommend to 95 percent of users is the basic $35 option with 60GB of data that can be used in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. You also get a one-time 5GB of ‘Roam Beyond’ data to use in over 100 other destinations, which will be really helpful if you travel once a year.

Alongside this perfectly priced plan is a $45 version with all the same perks, plus 80GB of data, 15GB of Roam Beyond data and unlimited talk and text while roaming in supported locations.

Moving up the price ladder, the next plan is the $55/100GB option. It also includes 25GB of Roam Beyond and talk/text while roaming. You can also bundle a tablet or smartwatch into this plan to get 5GB of sharable data if you pay the connection fee for your extra device.

You do need to sign up for Freedom’s monthly auto-pay billing to get the prices this low, but overall, it’s hard to beat these prices. If you’re unsure about using Freedom, you can check out a full review of the service, but the short answer is that the carrier has gotten a lot better over the past five years and has really widespread service included in its Nationwide plans.

It’s worth noting that these price drops come after Telus-owned wireless provider Public Mobile similarly discounted its plans.
