1. The current active western disturbance weather pattern in the country will likely lower the risks for the wheat crop in North-West and North India. This comes despite above normal temperatures across the country in February. Appealing to States to maximise procurement of wheat, the Centre has set a target to buy 31 million tonnes (mt) this year.

2. A group of farmers in Rajasthan has decided not to sell mustard below ₹6,000/quintal at least until March 15 and will decide their next course of action after analysing the consequences. Currently mustard prices are ruling below its Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹5,950/quintal.

3. Armed with the newly acquired organic certification, tribal farmers in the Araku area are all set to tap the huge demand for organic coffee in Europe and the United States. After preparing for three years, about 2,000 farmers in the region are now eligible to market their coffee with the organic tag, which gives them an edge in terms of quality and price.

4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the target of creating 10,000 farmer producer organisations (FPOs) has been achieved before the deadline, March 31, 2025, with the formation of an FPO in the Khagaria district in Bihar.
