PESB invites applications for selection of ONGC CMD

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Monday invited applications from qualified candidates for the post of Chairman of the oil and gas exploration & production (E&P) major ONGC with a pay scale of ₹2,00,000-3,70,000.

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) said on Tuesday that it will route the applications of MDs/ Functional Directors (Board level executives) in CPSEs under its administrative control to the PESB.

Applications of the below board level officials are to be routed through the concerned CPSEs to the PESB directly, under intimation to the Ministry, it added.

“The last date of receipt of applications in PESB is April 11, 2025. No application shall be entertained under any circumstances after the stipulated time/date. Incomplete applications/applications received after the stipulated time/date shall be rejected,” the PESB advertisement said.

In December 2022, the government appointed Arun Kumar Singh, the former-CMD of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) as the Chairman of the Maharatna company for a three-year tenure with effect from the date of assumption of charge.

Singh’s name was finalised through a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) that was set up in February 2022.
