Air India fires trainer following whistleblower malpractice complaint

Air India has sacked a trainer following a whistleblower complaint of malpractices. Ten pilots who underwent recurrent training under the trainer have been removed from flying duties as a precaution and pending further investigation, the airline said on Wednesday. The action follows a detailed investigation of the complaint.

“Air India has voluntarily reported the matter to the Indian aviation regulator, DGCA, as part of our voluntary disclosure practice, and has commended the whistleblower for stepping forward,” an Air India spokesperson said.
