UREVO may be the new kid on the block, but don’t let that put you off. This Chinese brand was only founded in 2022, but it has already sold thousands of treadmills on Amazon, Best Buy and other major retailers, earning many positive reviews and a growing number of loyal customers. UREVO’s equipment seems to be getting a lot of praise for its good quality build and affordable prices, so when we were invited to test the UREVO Strol 2E Smart Treadmill, we wanted to see if it could indeed be one of the best walking treadmills on a budget.
The UREVO Strol 2E treadmill costs a very reasonable $279.99, but it comes with a powerful motor (2.25 peak horsepower) and a non-slip tread belt made of five layers of shock-absorbing materials. It is small and portable (it is an under-desk treadmill, meaning it can fit under a desk and you can walk on it while you are working) and it can be controlled remotely via a small remote control or the UREVO app. Plus, the UREVO Strol 2E can hold up to 265 lbs (120 kg) weight and reach 6.2mph (10 km/h) in tread speed. While it is nowhere near as fast as some of the best treadmills we tested, its specs are still impressive for its low price point.

The UREVO Strol 2E treadmill was ready to use within minutes of unboxing. There were just three things we needed to do before hitting our first run: adjust the folding knobs using a hex tool provided in the package, install the device holder (no tools needed), and plug in the cord. Connecting to the UREVO app was also a breeze. The app immediately picked up on the signal from our treadmill, and since it does not require a subscription, we did not have to spend ages setting up a payment plan. We could not ask for an easier assembly.
In terms of usability, the UREVO Strol 2E is not suitable for those weighing more than 265 lbs (120 kg). While many treadmills have higher capacity, 265 pounds is still enough to accommodate a wide range of users, and it matches the maximum user weight of other budget-friendly treadmills we tested.

The first thing we noticed about the UREVO Strol 2E is its small size. With the handrail folded, this treadmill measures just 4.6 in (11.7 cm) in height and 51.2 in (130 cm) in length. This means it can be easily stored under a bed or a sofa — a big perk for those who do not have much space. The UREVO Strol 2E weighs a reasonable 58.64 lbs (26.6 kg) and comes with a pair of wheels at the front of the unit so we did not struggle with moving it around, even on our fluffy carpets.
The UREVO Strol 2E features two small LED displays, one built into the control panel next to the tread and the other built into the handrail, both of which show basic workout stats such as speed, time, distance and calories burned. When the tread was moving, each stat would flash for several seconds before moving on to another, so we could easily gauge the intensity of our workout at a glance. No frills, but enough to get a good workout.
We also liked its well-cushioned tread belt. We tested our UREVO Strol 2E for two weeks and at no point did we have any issues with it. The belt was quite bouncy and it did seem to absorb the shocks relatively well, cushioning our knees and ankles from the excessive mechanical impact that running on hard surfaces can inflict on the body. The belt also seemed to have a good grip on our shoes.
On the other hand, this belt is relatively short and narrow, much smaller than what we would typically see in a walking treadmill. This means that the UREVO Strol 2E may not be able to accommodate taller individuals or those who run with a bigger stride.

The UREVO Strol 2E has two exercise modes. When the handrail is extended, the treadmill is in running mode and the tread speed can go up to 6.2 mph (10 km/h). When the handrail is folded up, it is in walking mode, with tread speed limited to 4 mph (6 km/h). This is not a huge range of intensity settings — some treadmills can go twice as fast and even include incline changes — but it should easily satisfy the training needs of most users.
The controls in the UREVO Strol 2E are user-friendly, too. The speed can be changed remotely, through the UREVO app or a small remote control, or via a console on the handrail. The buttons and app features are clearly marked and intuitive to use. Plus, the remote control can be magnetically attached to the treadmill so it is less likely to get knocked off by accident or lost.
What the UREVO Strol 2E falls short on is smart features. Typically, we would not see this as a big problem, as plenty of exercise machines do not have them and still manage to deliver a superb experience. However, this treadmill has “smart” in its very name, so naturally, our expectations are slightly higher. The UREVO app only allows you to change your speed and track basic workout stats, such as steps, distance and time, and it comes with just two 30-minute guided workouts. That is pretty much it. There are some more features in the app, such as fitness challenges and scenic walks on location, but they only seem to be available with the more premium UREVO treadmills that have incline changes.

There is plenty to like about the UREVO Strol 2E performance-wise. Firstly, this treadmill feels surprisingly sturdy for a machine of its size and weight. It did not shake or wobble during fast runs, and even though the device holder did tend to jiggle at higher speeds, our phone was never thrown off it mid-workout. We have also not seen any damage to the tread (or other parts of the treadmill, for that matter) after two weeks of testing.
Walking on the UREVO Strol 2E was a pleasure. The belt glided smoothly and transitioned between speed settings relatively seamlessly and without making much noise. In fact, it is one of the quietest treadmills we tested. When we measured how loud the UREVO Strol 2E was with a Sound Meter decibel-counting app, we noted approximately 30 dB in the walking mode and 60 dB at its highest speed. To put it into perspective, this is no louder than a normal conversation, and at its walking speed, the noise is more comparable to a refrigerator hum.
We also did not experience any connectivity issues. Both the remote control and the UREVO app swiftly relayed our commands to the treadmill, and there seemed to be no lags in data transmission. Speaking of data, all of the stats measured by the treadmill appeared largely accurate. The step count lacked some precision, true, but we could argue that this is a common issue seen across treadmills of all makes and models. Having previously battled with some connectivity issues in other exercise machines we tested, this reliability felt like a welcome change.

Should you buy the UREVO Strol 2E?
✅ Buy it if: You want a quality under-desk treadmill for less than $300. The UREVO Strol 2E may be relatively basic in design and functionality, but it gets these essentials very well. This smart treadmill is easy to use, takes up little space and offers a comfortable running experience, and unlike many of its competitors, its connected app is entirely free.
❌ Don’t buy it if: You are tall or want plenty of smart features. The tread and handle in the UREVO Strol 2E are relatively short so those with a bigger stride may struggle to stay on track when running. The connected app is free, true, but it does not feature any fun guided workouts, advanced tracking tools or any other frills offered by subscription-based apps like Peloton or iFit.
If UREVO Strol 2E is not for you
The Mobvoi Treadmill Plus is very similar to the UREVO Strol 2E in terms of design and functionality, but it is cheaper by around $100. However, its connected app is not available for Android users.
The Echelon Stride is another great alternative. While this foldable treadmill is nowhere near as affordable as the UREVO Strol 2E (it costs around $1,400), it is compact, durable and comes with an app that is filled with fun and engaging workouts.

We tested the UREVO Strol 2E treadmill for two weeks, looking at its set-up, design, features, ease of use, connectivity with third-party devices and value for money.
