Aether Industries gets green light to resume operations at Gujarat plant

Aether Industries Limited announced today that it has received approval from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) to fully resume operations at its Manufacturing Facility II, which was shut down following a fire incident in November 2023.

The shares of Aether Industries Limited were trading at ₹904.80 up by ₹9.20 or 1.03 per cent on the NSE today at 10.45 am.

The chemical manufacturer, based in Surat, Gujarat, can now operate the facility at 100 per cent capacity, subject to meeting specified compliance conditions. The company plans to restart full-capacity operations after ensuring all stipulated requirements are met.

The closure order, initially issued on November 29, 2023, has been under review for over a year, with the company providing multiple updates to stock exchanges between November 2023 and August 2024. The facility’s reopening marks the end of a 14-month shutdown period that has likely impacted the company’s production capabilities.
