Apple will reportedly release a new iPhone SE and new iPads within the next few months.

On X (Twitter), Bloomberg Apple reporter Mark Gurman said the new devices “are being developed on the iOS 18.3 train,” meaning they’ll drop by this April “if all goes to plan.”

As part of this post, Gurman denied a report claiming the new SE would launch this month. He didn’t mention anything else about the new phone and tablets, but previous reports from both Gurman and other sources give us an idea of what to expect.

First, as Gurman alludes to in his post with the “iPhone SE replacement” phrasing,” Apple is reportedly planning a different name for the latest in its line of lower-cost phones. Earlier this month, a report indicated it will be called the ‘iPhone 16E,’ bringing it more in line with the flagships it launched last fall. Gurman has also reported that this new phone — which would be the first SE since 2022 — will have an iPhone 14-like design, a crisper OLED screen that stretches across the full device and Apple Intelligence. The current SE model starts at $579 in Canada, so it remains to be seen what the pricing would be for the 2025 iteration.

In terms of the iPad, the new model would mark the 11th generation of Apple’s popular tablets. Reports have suggested that the new iPad will support Apple Intelligence (meaning it will have a newer A-series chip over the iPad 10) and 8GB of RAM. It’s also worth noting that Gurman specifically said “iPads,” plural, which could indicate a baseline iPad and new iPad Air model.

Before any of this, though, Apple is expected to debut new MacBook Air models between now and March, according to Gurman.
