Bajaj Auto reports mixed December sales, exports surge 

Bajaj Auto Limited reported a marginal 1 per cent decline in total sales for December 2024, with total vehicle sales at 323,125 units compared to 326,806 units in December 2023. The company saw contrasting performance in domestic and export markets, according to its regulatory filing on January 1, 2025.

The shares of Bajaj Auto Limited were trading at ₹8,642.85 down by ₹155.75 or 1.77 per cent on the NSE today at 11.30 am.

Domestic two-wheeler sales witnessed a significant drop of 19 per cent to 128,335 units from 158,370 units in the year-ago period. However, this was partially offset by strong export performance, with two-wheeler exports growing 15 per cent to 143,838 units.

The commercial vehicle segment showed robust growth, with total sales increasing 16 per cent to 50,952 units. Export numbers in this segment were particularly strong, jumping 50 per cent to 16,867 units, while domestic sales grew by 5 per cent.

For the April-December 2024 period, the company’s overall performance remained positive with an 8 per cent growth in total sales to 3,548,032 units. During this period, domestic sales grew 6 per cent while exports showed a stronger performance with 12 per cent growth.

The results reflect Bajaj Auto’s growing strength in international markets while facing challenges in domestic two-wheeler sales.
