“Antiques are more than just things,” Jeffrey says. “They’re history, stories, and sometimes, hidden treasures. I’ve always been drawn to that sense of discovery.”

A Foundation of Hard Work

Born in Buffalo Hart, Illinois, Jeffrey grew up on a farm, where he learned the value of discipline and hard work. His father’s entrepreneurial spirit had a lasting impact on him.

“My dad ran a full-service gas station, and I was always helping out,” Jeffrey recalls. “Whether it was farming or working at the station, I learned the importance of putting in the effort and doing things the right way.”

That work ethic laid the foundation for Jeffrey’s success. A pivotal moment came when a customer gave him an 1878 silver dollar. That coin sparked a lifelong fascination with collecting. By the age of 18, he had built a significant coin collection, which he sold during a silver boom in 1980 for nearly $100,000.

“That sale changed everything for me,” Jeffrey says. “It wasn’t just about the money—it was realizing that my passion could be a business.”

Turning Passion Into Profit

Over the years, Jeffrey expanded his focus from coins to include antiques, collectibles, and estate sales. He launched multiple ventures, including Parsons Produce, where he managed inventory and operations for a retail produce business. He also operated over 150 firework stands across Illinois and traded pecans at local festivals.

“These experiences taught me how to manage logistics and understand what people value,” Jeffrey explains. “It’s all about knowing your market and delivering quality.”

Today, Jeffrey manages the Estate Treasures Roadshow, a premier estate sale service that helps families appraise, organize, and sell their belongings. He also leads the American Rare Coin Collectors Association, providing expertise in gold, silver, and collectible coins.

“Every estate sale is different,” he says. “It’s not just about selling items—it’s about helping families through transitions and preserving legacies.”

Lessons in Leadership and Growth

Jeffrey’s success stems from his ability to adapt and grow. He emphasizes the importance of staying current with market trends and being willing to take risks.

“The market changes all the time,” he says. “What’s valuable today might not be tomorrow. You have to keep learning, keep growing, and stay curious.”

One of Jeffrey’s biggest challenges was moving his business to West Columbia, Texas, from Illinois. The relocation allowed him to tap into a broader market but came with its own hurdles.

“Moving was tough,” Jeffrey admits. “I had deep roots in Illinois, but the opportunity in Texas was too good to pass up. It taught me the importance of flexibility and resilience.”

For Jeffrey, the excitement of uncovering hidden treasures keeps him passionate about his work. He recalls finding a rare error coin worth over $10,000 in a seemingly ordinary collection.

“The family had no idea what they had,” he says. “Moments like that make it all worthwhile. It’s not just about the value—it’s about the joy of discovery.”

Jeffrey believes this sense of excitement is what keeps the antique and collectible industry alive.

“Every piece has a story,” he says. “Helping people connect with those stories is what makes this business so special.”

Despite his demanding career, Jeffrey prioritizes his family. He and his wife, Bree, have five children and nine grandchildren.

“Family keeps me grounded,” Jeffrey says. “They remind me why I work so hard. It’s not just about building a business—it’s about creating a legacy for them.”

He credits his family with helping him maintain balance in his life. Whether it’s a quiet evening at home or a weekend of gardening and landscaping, Jeffrey makes time for the people who matter most.
