Centre Working on Several Initiatives to Empower Youth for Global and Domestic Opportunities: Mandavia 

Centre is working on several initiatives including skilling to ensure that youth of the country can avail both domestic and international opportunities thrown open by India’s fast growing economy, Labour Minister Mansukh Mandavia said on Tuesday.

Efforts are also on to secure the interests of the employees in their post retirement life through pension schemes, Mandavia said at the CII Global Summit on Skills Development in the capital. 

On the occasion, Skill Development Secretary Atul Kumar Tiwari, released two reports—India Decoding Jobs Report and India Skills Report. 

Speaking at the event, Aditya Ghosh, CII National Committee on Skills Development and Co-founder of Akasa Air said that CII plans to in the next three years set up 100 additional CII model career centres that will provide career counselling, soft and employability skills and placement services to youth. 

CII will take steps to Impact 10 million youth in next five years through the industry chamber’s on-ground initiatives, he said.

Ghosh also said that the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) schemes announced in budget provide a win-win strategy for ensuring livelihoods and driving growth.
