CM Siddaramaiah launches Nandini’s whey protein-based idli and dosa batter

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the Nandini whey protein-based Idli and Dosa batter. The product will be available in Bengaluru starting December 26, according to the cooperative’s official statement.

The whey batter will be sold in two sizes: 450 grams, priced at ₹40, and 900 grams, priced at ₹80.

This launch comes nearly a month after the PSU transferred KMF Managing Director MK Jagadish, who had been leading the introduction of the whey protein-based batter in Bengaluru.

businessline previously reported that Nandini plans to enter the whey protein market. As part of this strategy, KMF stated that it is diversifying its product portfolio and partnering with Healthkart to produce whey protein concentrate (WPC).

KMF-Cloudnine partnership

Additionally, KMF has partnered with Cloudnine, a chain of maternity and childcare hospitals. Recently, the cooperative announced its entry into the Delhi market to capture 10 lakh litres per day within two years.

In a post on X, Siddaramaiah stated, “KMF’s Nandini products have established a significant presence in the national market. Nandini milk is now available in the national capital, Delhi, and there is growing demand for Nandini milk in major cities of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The famous laddu prasad of Tirupati, a prominent religious site, is made with Nandini ghee. This reflects the increasing demand for Nandini’s products and the brand’s rapid growth.”

He further added, “In response to the long-awaited request of citizens, a new product—whey protein-based Dosa and Idli flour has been launched. The high-quality flour is available at an affordable price, offering consumers a healthier and tastier option for their breakfast with crispy Dosa and delicious Idli.”
