Data analytics will be used to improve airport services: Civil Aviation minster Ram Mohan Naidu

Deployment of data analytics is currently underway in all airports in the country to improve services, K Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation has said.

Speaking after the formal launch of AI powered Digital Twin for better passenger experience, airport operations in GMR Hyderabad International airport here on Wednesday, Naidu said advanced technologies were being harnessed for improving passenger services as well operations at the airports. 

“The Digi Yatra technology is being used in 24 airports in the country now. We will also deploy more data analytics to improve the services in airports. An airport is not just a base for travel but also a hub of employment and culture,’‘ Naidu said. 

The Union government aims  to add 50 new airports in the next five years, the Minister said adding that there was need to hasten the construction of airports at Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh and Warangal in Telangana. The Bhogapuram airport will be ready by June 2026, he said. 

Digital Twin

An AI-powered digital twin platform launched at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport , Hyderabad is aiming to better airport operations and transform the passenger experience.

The one of a kind next- generation Airport Predictive Operation Centre (APOC) which was launched at the event is a `transformative’ advancement in airport management and operations. The platform integrates airside, landside, and terminal operations into a unified system, utilising real-time data to optimise decision-making, minimize disruptions, and ensure seamless operations
