AC Milan face increased competition in their pursuit to sign Marcus Rashford, with Borussia Dortmund stepping up efforts to sign the Manchester United striker, according to Sky Sports Deutschland.
The Rossoneri had hoped to secure a six-month dry loan for the England international without an option to buy. However, Barcelona, the initial frontrunners for Rashford’s signature, now face a strong challenge from Dortmund, who are intensifying their push to convince the forward.
Interestingly, Milan have also been linked with a move for Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna, potentially setting the stage for the clubs to negotiate deals involving both players.
While Rashford, 27, can operate as a centre-forward—a role Milan urgently needs filled—he has consistently expressed his preference for playing on the left wing. That position at Milan is already well-covered by Rafael Leão and rising star Alex Jimenez.
This season, Rashford has registered seven goals and three assists in 24 appearances for Manchester United, showcasing his value as both a goal-scorer and a creator.
As the January transfer window heats up, the battle for Rashford’s signature is set to be a closely contested race, with Milan, Barcelona, and Dortmund all vying to secure his services.
