The Centre has given additional charge of the post of Revenue Secretary to Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth. 

Seth will hold the additional responsibility of Revenue Secretary till the appointment of regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) order. 

This latest decision follows the Centre’s announcement on Thursday that Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Finance and Revenue Secretary, will be appointed SEBI Chairperson for three years. 

“The Competent Authority has approved assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Revenue to Shri Ajay Seth, IAS (KN:1987), Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs upon relinquishment of the charge of the post by Shri Thin Kanta Pandey, IAS (OR:1987), till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier”, said an order issued by the ACC on Saturday. 

Ajay Seth, an IAS officer from the 1987 batch of Karnataka, has been serving as Economic Affairs Secretary since 2021.
