Ethereum Developers Advance Pectra Devnet 5 Specifications Amid Key Proposals at 147th ACDC Conference

In a recent update from the Ethereum development community, Christine Kim, vice president of Galaxy Research, relayed key insights from the 147th Ethereum Core Developer Consensus (ACDC) conference call held on December 16. Developers are actively refining the specifications for the highly anticipated Pectra Devnet 5, focusing on stability and functionality. In parallel, the earlier iteration, Mekong, is reported to be running without issues, showcasing robust network health. During the discussions, Ethereum Foundation engineer Barnabas Busa put forth a proposal suggesting the elimination of validator block gas limit adjustments. Additionally, the consensus was reached to strip away EIP 7742 from Pectra, opting instead to enhance the Blob count within the network’s architecture by modifying the client’s genesis configuration.
