EVs to be showstoppers at Bharat Mobility Global Expo ‘25, not Bollywood stars

Electric vehicles will take centre stage at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where one will also get an exciting glimpse into the future of mobility. Significantly, this year, the limelight will be fully on the vehicles unlike past expos when tinsel town stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar or Katrina Kaif stole a fair bit of the thunder .

Maruti Suzuki’s India pavilion will have a bit of star power though with ‘Chandu Champion’ actor, Kaartik Aaryan expected on the second last day of the Expo (January 21).

Making debut

There’s a fair bit of excitement over global start-ups and EV makers like Vietnam’s VinFast and Chinese BYD Motor making their debut at the Expo this year. In the electric two-wheeler segment, companies like Ather Energy and Eka Mobility will be participating for the first time.

The Expo will kick off with the unveiling of Maruti Suzuki India’s first electric vehicle, e Vitara SUV, followed by the launch of the electric Creta by Hyundai Motor India along with its price announcement.

A unique experience for visitors awaits at the Mercedes Benz India experience zone where they can get a feel of the G-Turn – a 360 degree turn of the vehicle – in its recently launched G580, the electric version of its iconic G Wagon (with EQ technology) which is priced at ₹3 crore (ex-showroom).

“The innovative drive concept of the all-new electric G-Class enables unique functions for off-road driving: G-Turn, G-Steering and the intelligent off-road crawl function. Mercedes-Benz pavilion at Bharat Mobility 2025 will be themed around ‘Arena of Desire’: Driving Desire, Technology Pioneers and Sustainability Drivers’,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

Another attraction will be the JSW MG Motor’s Cyberster, the world’s fastest MG Roadster. Visitors will be able to enjoy this showstopper with its electric scissor doors. The company will also showcase ‘MG M9’, a luxurious limousine designed for the discerning few.

In the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle segments too, the spotlight will be on electric mobility.

For the first time, the Mobility Expo will have free entry on all public days starting January 19. In its last edition, the Bharat Mobility Expo attracted more than 1.50 lakh visitors, hosted 800+ exhibitors and 500+ international delegates and conducted 20+ conferences with over 2,500 conference delegates.

This year, the event is spread across three venues: Bharat Mandapam (New Delhi), Yashobhoomi (Dwarka, New Delhi) and India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida (UP) and expected to draw over five lakh visitors. Nearly 5,100 international participants are expected.

Component players and tech companies will also be showcasing their wares. At the Nasscom hosted Tech Pavilion one can get a feel of connected vehicles and autonomous driving .
