Male-led startups continue to be more prominent than female-led ones. However, many female-led or co-led startups are making their mark from e-commerce to supply chain, edtech, and Artificial Intelligence, among others.
Here are some female-led startups that have been making their mark and are projected to keep doing so in 2025.
Middleman
Midddleman is an e-commerce website that solves the problem of trust among vendors and customers by performing the function of a “middleman” literally. Co-founded by Omolara Sanni in 2023, the startup holds customers’ payments until they confirm that their purchase has been completed and delivered successfully.
Since its launch, it has seen transaction value reach over N1 billion and has won grants like the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) HERccelerate, First Bank Fintech Innovators Pitch, and the PitchHER competition organised by Wetech.
Sabi
Sabi, co-founded in 2021 by Anu Adedoyin Adasolum, is improving e-commerce in Africa by leveraging market intelligence to streamline trade. Unlike traditional B2B platforms, Sabi provides manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and farmers with tailored solutions for payments, logistics, and inventory management, addressing inefficiencies in markets where informal networks obscure critical data.
Since 2021, Sabi has processed over $1 billion in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), worked with over 250,000 users, and facilitated about 15,000 monthly transactions, dominating Nigeria’s market while expanding into South Africa and planning entry into Tanzania and Senegal. Its asset-light model supports businesses with tools, financing, and logistics while also connecting African commodities to global markets via its TRACE platform.
Messenger
Messenger is a logistics platform that provides financing and aggregation for end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations in Nigeria. Co-founded by Amanda Etuk, Messenger efficiently connects businesses to their customers through logistics solutions. Its mobile applications connect individuals and businesses to nearby logistics assets while supporting operators through asset financing and operations support.

Product Hub Africa
Product Hub Africa, founded in 2022 by Victoria Oladosu, is an edtech platform that empowers product management enthusiasts with accessible, affordable training and skill programs.
The startup was created to achieve a world where Africans are “equally recognised and represented in the tech space.” With a mission to build a community for growth, mentorship, meaningful connections, and opportunity, Product Hub Africa offers tech boot camp training, accelerator programs, mentorship programs, and job placements alongside the STEM-A-SCHOOL initiative for students in Africa. So far, it has trained thousands of students across the country’s schools.
Guestnhost
Guestnhost is a cloud-based hospitality SaaS startup connecting guests with hosts for events, experiences, attractions, and rental services. Founded by Rebecca Adedire in 2023, the platform provides program hosting features, enabling guests to access all necessary event information before and during the event.
It simplifies the planning process by reducing the need for printed brochures and invitations while eliminating the hassle of constant communication with the host for details such as directions, reservations, accommodations, and travel information. It also offers a ticketing system for selling unique, customisable event tickets.
Regxta
Regxta is a fintech startup offering digital financial solutions, like micro-loans, savings accounts, and business support services, to empower unbanked individuals and small businesses.
Founded by Rukayat Bello, the Regxta mobile application is powered by advanced data science and artificial intelligence that instantly underwrites and disburses loans to people with no borrowing history.

TownTalk Solutions
Towntalk is a Nigerian data intelligence startup using data and artificial intelligence to provide predictive tools to Africans by simplifying decision-making for individuals, businesses, and governments in emerging markets.
By leveraging tools like the WhatsApp chatbots, USSD, and Pulse, its AI-powered system, Towntalk delivers real-time alerts, navigation, and security insights to businesses and travellers. Co-founded by Folake Edun, the platform is powered by a network of 45,000 trusted sources and a database of 15,000 verified emergency responders across Nigeria.
It has developed a travel safety package for location-specific briefings and support, demonstrating its commitment to addressing security challenges with innovative solutions. Its workforce is also 70 percent women driven.
Tyms
Co-founded in 2021 by Chineye Ochem, Tyms is a Nigerian startup revolutionising bookkeeping and accounting for African businesses. The company streamlines accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting tasks through its Tyms Book platform.
In 2025, Tyms plans to integrate AI into its processes, as announced by Ochem on LinkedIn. This upgrade will enable users to generate income statements directly from uploaded PDF bank statements, enhancing efficiency. The platform now features an accounting assistant called Tyms AI, marking a significant step towards automation in African business management.
