Goyal Salt targets health-conscious consumers with launch of ‘black salt’

Goyal Salt, which is in the process of increasing its overall capacity, has enhanced product portfolio with the launch of Black Salt.

Black salt, commonly known as “Kala Namak,” is a versatile and health-conscious choice with numerous benefits. It aids digestion by stimulating bile production, supports natural detoxification and promotes skin health with its exfoliating properties. As a healthier alternative to regular salt, it also helps to manage blood pressure due to its lower sodium content.

Additionally, black salt is traditionally used for respiratory relief and supports balanced sugar levels for those managing diabetes. With this launch, Goyal Salt aims to reach health-conscious consumers, providing a wholesome and beneficial option to complement a healthy lifestyle.

Pramesh Goyal, Managing Director, Goyal Salt said black salt is not just a seasoning, it is a step toward holistic well-being and the company is confident that this launch will strengthen bond with health-conscious consumers.

Goyal Salt produces premium industrial and edible salts which Includes Triple Refined Free Flow Iodized Salt, Industrial Salt, Double Fortified Salt, and Triple Refined Half Dry Salt.

Expansion plans

It has built a robust presence in North India, particularly in Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. It is ambitiously eyeing a spot among the top 3 salt brands in India, as it continues to strengthen the brand in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Goyal Salt is in the process of setting up salt a manufacturing facility in Kutch with an investment of ₹80 crore. Spread across 12 acres, the 4.50 lakh tonnes per annum plant is in the trial phase and is expected to become fully operational by January-end.

In addition to the new Gandhidham plant, Goyal Salt operates an existing facility in Nawa City, Rajasthan, spanning 15 acres. This unit is dedicated to salt refining, raw salt storage and refined salt packaging, with an annual production capacity of 2.10 lakh tonnes.
