Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced today that the State government has devised a plan to lower domestic and industrial electricity rates within the next 2-3 years.
“We have readied a roadmap for the next 25 years, according to which there will be a system in place that will decrease industrial and domestic electricity rates,” said Fadnavis, speaking to reporters in Nagpur. He added that the government is planning to provide solar panels to all houses constructed under state and union government schemes.
Fadnavis said that Maharashtra is receiving investments in a big way and that employment generation will be accelerated. “We are aiming for balanced growth and balanced development, giving equal importance to social and infrastructure development,” he said.
He stated that the government has undertaken six river-linking projects in the state and that these projects will transform Maharashtra, ensuring drought-prone regions, including Vidarbha, receive water.
Fadnavis added that the government is aiming to make Gadchiroli district the next steel city of India, with various projects already underway. He mentioned that mining industries in Gadchiroli will also benefit other districts in Vidarbha.
The Chief Minister said that the government is also planning a policy for media. “We will develop an all-inclusive policy for all kinds of media,” he said when asked about regulations for online platforms.
