iPhone 17 Air expected to measure less than 6mm

Apple is expected to launch the 17 series, its latest flagships, later this year. However, the 17 series will reportedly include a 17 Air model this year, which is expected to replace the Plus variant.

The iPhone 17 Air will offer the thinnest iPhone design ever, less than 6mm thick. For comparison, the S24 and the iPhone 16 measure around 7.5mm thick.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 17 Air could measure 5.5mm thick at its thinnest point, making it thinner than the thinnest iPhone ever, the iPhone 6 (which measured 6.9mm). Additionally, the handset won’t have a SIM tray in all markets, which is currently only in the U.S. market.

The iPhone 17 Air will definitely be a highlight in the upcoming iPhone 17 series. The handset will launch alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
