Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Communications announced today they are expanding their partnership to enhance connected vehicle capabilities across 120 countries. The collaboration will utilize Tata Communications’ MOVE platform to power JLR’s next generation of software-defined vehicles, with the first implementations expected in 2026.
The shares of Tata Communications Limited were trading at ₹1,677.35 up by ₹45.05 or 2.76 per cent on the NSE today at 12.08 pm.
The partnership will focus on JLR’s upcoming medium-sized SUVs built on their new Electric Modular Architecture (EMA). These vehicles will feature seamless network transitions between operators and continuous connectivity for services like media streaming, even in remote locations.

Currently, JLR’s connected fleet generates 2.5 terabytes of data daily, with approximately half a million electronic control units updated monthly. The MOVE platform is expected to increase this data exchange capability, enabling real-time vehicle performance monitoring and more efficient over-the-air software updates.
Mark Brogden, JLR’s Director of Digital Product Platform Off-Board, highlighted that JLR pioneered dual modem, dual eSIM design in luxury vehicles with the 2020 Defender. The enhanced partnership aims to provide secure data connectivity and continuous connected experiences for their luxury clientele.

The collaboration supports JLR’s broader digital transformation strategy and aligns with their sustainability goals, which include achieving carbon net zero across operations by 2039 and transitioning to all-electric models for their Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender lines by 2030.
