Juniper Green Energy (JGE) said on Thursday that it has signed up with Envision Energy India to supply 200 of its 5 megawatt (MW) turbine platforms and 320 MWh BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
Juniper will deploy the wind turbine generators (WTGs) for various projects won under State and Central auctions and the BESS package for the Firm Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project awarded by state-run SJVN under its first FDRE auction.
Envision’s WTGs are based on an 182-metre rotor diameter, a 140-metre hub height, and an ideal configuration for wind and site conditions in India. This 5 MW turbine platform has proven performance in the booming markets of the MENA region, Southeast Asia, and China.
It enhances annual energy output (AEP) by over 40 per cent from the current 3.3 MW platform and requires fewer land parcels, reducing challenges for acquiring rights of way.
Envision’s energy storage solution, which includes a 5 MWh 20-feet containerized storage unit, will be powered by high-safety, high-performance Lithium-Ion 315Ah cells and integrated through an AIoT-based Energy Management System with the 3.45 MW PCS unit. Each of these three elements will be designed and manufactured by the Envision group in compliance with the highest global standards. Envision will provide comprehensive lifecycle operation and maintenance services.
Recently, Juniper Green Energy also signed an agreement with First Solar to procure and supply 1 gigawatt (GW) of advanced Series 7 FT1 cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin-film photovoltaic (PV) modules.
Additionally, it has signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with key entities, including SJVN, GUVNL, and NTPC, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio.
