The Katsina Police Command has confirmed that Dr Murtala Sale-Dandashire has survived after terrorists shot him at Kankara General Hospital.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina about the doctor’s condition, after posts on X falsely claimed terrorists had killed him.

“The news making the rounds that a medical doctor shot dead at Kankara General Hospital is not true. He was shot but currently responding to treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina. The terrorists equally abducted three persons during the attack,” Aliyu said.

The police spokesman added that officers are pursuing the attackers and working to rescue the kidnapped victims.
