Kempegowda International Airport (Bengaluru Airport) has reported a surge in passenger traffic during CY24, recording over 40 million passengers.
The annual cargo tonnage stood at 496,227 MT, up by 17 per cent compared to CY23. This growth was complemented by daily air traffic movements (ATMs) and the launch of several new domestic and international routes.
The airport recorded its highest number of passengers in a single day on October 20, 2024, with 126,532 passengers passing through. Additionally, on October 17, 2024, the airport reached a peak of 782 air traffic movements (ATMs), with an annual average of 723 ATMs per day.
Global Reach
The airport has expanded its global reach with new airline partners, including Virgin Atlantic, Salam Air, Manta Air, and Fly91. The frequency of international flights has increased by 21 per cent, with an average of 75 ATMs per day in CY24, up from 62 ATMs per day in CY23.
The top domestic routes included Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), Kolkata (CCU), Hyderabad (HYD), and Pune (PNQ), while the most popular international destinations were Dubai (DXB), Singapore (SIN), Abu Dhabi (AUH), Doha (DOH), and London Heathrow (LHR).
