Lego Fortnite is getting a expansion inspired by none other than Grand Theft Auto.
It’s called Brick Life, which developer Epic Games describes as an “all-new social roleplay experience” set in an open-world city called Brick Bay. In it, players will be able to explore with up to 31 other people and take part in various activities, including races, home customization and jobs (like courier, professor and security officer).
In case there was any doubt whether Brick Life was influenced by GTA, the official Lego Fortnite X (Twitter) account shared the following image referencing both a quote from San Andreas and the key art from GTA VI.

This isn’t the first time a Lego game has drawn from GTA, as the well-regarded Lego City Undercover also owes much to Rockstar’s ever-popular series. But Brick Life is going for more of a social experience, and because it’s included with Fortnite at no additional cost, it will no doubt reach a larger audience.
Brick Life will launch in Fortnite worldwide on December 12th. Alongside this, the base Minecraft-esque Lego Fortnite sandbox experience that launched last year will be rebranded as Lego Fortnite Odyssey. The “Lego Fortnite” name will instead be used for the broader hub within Fortnite containing all of the Lego experiences.
It’s been a particularly busy time for Fortnite. Following a big live in-game concert headlined by Snoop Dogg last month, the multiplayer game has unveiled a new Godzilla skin, permanently brought back the popular Fortnite OG mode and teased a new first-person multiplayer mode that will debut on December 11th.
