He emphasized the intention to “leverage our most valuable capital market tools” with the objective of boosting the company’s Bitcoin holdings to a robust total of 10,000 BTC. This strategic move aims to enhance Metaplanet’s presence within Japan and the broader Bitcoin ecosystem. As noted by BitcoinTreasuries, Metaplanet currently holds 1,762 bitcoins, making it the largest corporate holder in Asia and placing it 15th among public companies worldwide in terms of Bitcoin assets.

During a recent event hosted by MicroStrategy’s CEO Michael Saylor, Gerovich speculated on the geopolitical implications of Bitcoin adoption, particularly if former President Trump positions Bitcoin as a strategic reserve. He indicated that such a move could prompt several nations, particularly in Asia, including Japan, to consider similar policies, potentially reshaping the regional economic landscape significantly.
