Both new models include Thunderbolt 5 ports, but you can spec them a little differently. The M4 Max version can handle up to 128GB of RAM. The M3 Ultra can take an insane 512GB. The Ultra can also take up to 16TB of storage.

Both the chipset and the new storage options will provide huge power boosts to anyone willing to pay for it. The base model starts at $2,699 and includes the M4 Max chip, 36GB RAM, a 14-core CPU and a 32-core GPU. However, if you want the best of the best, the price ranges up to $20,649.

Overall, this is an impressive computer, but only super serious professionals looking for extremely high GPU performance should really consider buying it. The M4 mini costs a lot less and has a smaller footprint, and it should be more than enough for day-to-day computing or creating social media content.
