Njide Okonjo-Udochi, CEO/President, Summit Medical Group

Njide Udochi is an experienced CEO and innovative healthcare leader with a demonstrated track record of working across industry. Skilled in strategy, building high performance teams, horizontal and vertical integration as well as alternative payment contracting with value based care initiatives in the medicare advantage and commercial space. She is also experienced with delivering results for startups looking to disrupt and provide innovative solutions and services aimed at improving outcomes for patients.

Njide Udochi obtained her medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Nigeria in 1988. Certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Disability Analysts, Udochi completed her internship and residency at the George Washington University/Holy Cross Family Practice Residency Programme in Rockville, MD. She also completed a fellowship in geriatrics at the George Washington University Medical Centre in Washington D.C. Before opening Millennium Family Practice, she was employed by Mercy Medical Centre and served as the medical director of HCH in Baltimore City. She is certified in HIV Medicine and has experience in addiction Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and in addition has a master’s degree in public health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Established in 2021, Summit Medical Group (SMG) is an integrated multispecialty medical practice blending two well-established practices, millennium family practice and WKTA pediatrics with a total of over 20 years of experience providing care to patients in the DMV area with other medical specialties to ensure patients receive care in a patient-centered medical home.

The mission is to provide evidence-based culturally sensitive medical care to all patients leveraging technology. In their advanced health practice, their patient’s need comes first. The medical team at SMG is passionate about the challenges in health and has assembled a team of professionals to help bridge the gap by ensuring that psychosocial determinants of health are addressed at each patient’s visit.

A recipient of several awards, Njide won ‘Maryland’s Family Physician of the Year 2021’ by the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians in the United States. She is the first black woman to earn the honour.
