PlayStation to release new ‘Midnight Black’ PS5 accessories in February

PlayStation has revealed a new line of PS5 accessories called the ‘Midnight Black Collection.’

Launching on February 20th, the collection brings a “galaxy-inspired” hue to the PlayStation Portal remote media player, DualSense Edge modular controller, Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. These join the existing Midnight Black models of the standard PS5 DualSense controller and PS5 Console Cover.

Check out the new Midnight Collection in this official video:

The official PlayStation Blog also confirms pricing for each Midnight Black peripheral:

DualSense Edge — $199.99 USD (about $287 CAD).
PlayStation Portal — $199.99 USD (about $287 CAD).
Pulse Explore — $199.99 USD (about $287 CAD).
Pulse Elite — $149.99 USD (about $215 CAD).

Pre-orders are also set to begin on January 16th on PlayStation’s Direct online marketplace, which isn’t available in Canada, as well as “participating retailers.” PlayStation notes that availability “may vary by country/region.”

It should be noted that the standard white DualSense Edge, PlayStation Portal and Pulse Explore all cost $270 in Canada, while the Pulse Elite is priced at $199 here. Given that the U.S. pricing lines up for both the standard and Midnight Black models, we’d assume that would also apply to Canada. However, MobileSyrup has reached out to PlayStation to confirm exact Canadian pricing (as well as availability) and will update this story once a response has been received.
