Reliance Retail launches LED TVs in partnership with Harman

Reliance Retail, has launched a range of six indigenously-developed, made-for-India Home Theatre LED televisions in partnership with audio equipment specialist, HARMAN, the company said in a release.

Launched under the BPL brand, the TVs are engineered to deliver a cutting-edge audio experience through specifically optimised speaker modules, in addition to exceptional picture clarity, providing a theatre-like experience at home, it said.

This is part of the conglomerate’s plan to push its way into the consumer electronics and white goods sector with its own brands. These items will form part of the overall Wyzr portfolio in partnership with contract manufacturers. It has already launched a range of coolers and other items such as food processors, electric kettles and other consumer durables.

On the launch of home theatre televisions, the company said that “consumers are looking for TVs that can provide a holistic entertainment experience through impeccable audio output and immersive picture quality.”

The BPL Home Theatre TV range will have the company’s proprietary AudioEFX tuning software powered by four AI algorithms that work in tandem to deliver a broad spectrum of audio with good clarity.

The company said it was poised to expand its presence in the LED TV segment with its wide range of products which are “reliable, efficient and affordable”.

BPL Home Theatre LED TVs are available across the country at electronic stores, large format stores, modern retail outlets, and e-commerce marketplaces like jiomart.com and reliancedigital.in.

Sources had earlier indicated that apart from making the products it would also be scouting for acquisitions to expand its range, get access to new technologies as well as new markets.
