Data security software provider Rubrik Inc. today announced the launch of Turbo Threat Hunting, a new feature designed to accelerate cyber recovery and allow organizations to locate clean recovery points in seconds.
Rubrik Turbo Threat Hunting is focused on allowing customers to immediately identify clean recovery points and swiftly recover from cyber incidents with minimal operational disruption.
The new feature seeks to address concerns about the ability of organizations to maintain business continuity during a cyberattack. Rubrik argues that the traditional process of identifying clean backups can take days or even weeks, leaving organizations vulnerable to prolonged outages and devastating financial outcomes. Turbo Threat Hunting addresses the issue by allowing organizations to scan up to 75,000 backups in less than 60 seconds.
Turbo Threat Hunting differs from traditional methods that scan one object at a time or require navigating multiple panes of glass. Instead, the feature scans at large scale by leveraging pre-computed hashes stored within Rubrik’s metadata. The methodology eliminates the need for file-by-file scanning, allowing organizations to rapidly pinpoint exact recovery points free from malware or other threats within seconds, even in complex data environments.
“This is the fastest way to recover from a cyberattack,” said Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta. “No other platform on the market can match our speed and scale, giving enterprises the confidence to quickly resume operations and protect their bottom line.”
Key features of Turbo Threat Hunting include pre-computed hashing, which leverages hash values stored within Rubrik’s metadata to instantly locate malicious files without the need for file-by-file scanning. The feature additionally quarantines malicious files by updating backup metadata with a history of identified threats, reducing the risk of errors when selecting uncompromised recovery points.
Turbo Threat Hunting also supports multicluster scanning, which allows organizations to identify clean backups across individual or multiple clusters with a single action. Designed to minimize production impacts, the feature performs full estate analysis and indicators of compromise sweeps across all workloads to ensure rapid recovery while maintaining operational continuity.
Turbo Threat Hunting is now available in beta for all Rubrik Enterprise Edition and cloud customers.
