One UI 7, based on Android 15, is now in beta in the U.S., U.K., Poland, Germany, India, and South Korea. While it’s not available in Canada, it will be part of the S24 series and launch with the S25 series sometime in January, according to past years.
One UI 7 offers a new notification system that uses AI. One of these new features is the ‘Now Bar,’ which highlights relevant activities such as an Interpreter, Music, Recording, Stopwatch, and more. Now, you won’t need to keep unlocking your device to change music, interpret, and more. Additionally, Samsung says that One UI 7 reduces visual clutter and offers a simplified home screen, redesigned One UI widgets and lock screen.
The update also includes a redesigned camera UX for more intuitive control over advanced settings. Camera buttons, controls, and modes have been recognized to make them easier to find. Additionally, the Pro and Pro video modes have a simplified layout, making it easier to focus on the picture or video you’re shooting. There’s also a new zoom control available when recording in Pro mode.
Galaxy AI will also include advanced writing assist tools integrated into the OS. These tools will allow users to summarize content, check spelling and grammar, and automatically format notes into bullet points. Call transcripts with support for 20 languages are also available. You’ll need to enable call recording, which will be automatically transcribed for reference.
Expect to see One UI 7 sometime in the new year on the latest Samsung devices.
