STT Global Data Centres India Private Ltd (STT GDC India), a data centre solutions company, will set up a 100-MW capacity data centre at Meerkhanpet near Hyderabad.
The company signed an agreement with the Telangana government during a visit by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu in Singapore on Saturday.
The upcoming state of the art AI ready data centre campus will feature the latest technologies and has scope for scalability.
Welcoming the decision, Revanth Reddy said the investment would go a long way in making Hyderabad the capital of data centres in the country.
“We are confident that Hyderabad will play a significant role in the ongoing AI-led digital transformation across the world,” Sridhar Babu said.
STT GDC India’s expansion in Telangana is part of its strategy to achieve a design capacity of 1 GW across India in the next decade, with a decadal investment outlook of approximately $3.2 billion.
“The company currently operates a data centre in HITEC City, Hyderabad, and this new campus will further solidify its presence in the State,” a State Government official said in a statement.
It currently manages one of the largest white space areas, with more than 390 MW of critical IT load spread across 30 facilities, including facilities under development, across 10 cities in India.
