Swiggy to launch standalone app for Instamart, expands quick commerce to 76 cities

India’s food delivery giant Swiggy announced today that its quick commerce service Instamart will soon be available as a standalone app while continuing to operate on the main Swiggy platform. The company has also expanded Instamart’s presence to 76 cities across India.

The shares of Swiggy Limited were trading at ₹507.85 up by ₹17.25 or 3.52 per cent on the NSE today at the closing hour.

Swiggy’s MD & Group CEO Sriharsha Majety indicated that Instamart is positioned to exceed the company’s food delivery business in both scale and penetration, with potential to reach over 100 million users. The quick commerce service offers 10-minute deliveries across nearly 50,000 products.

The standalone app will complement Instamart’s presence on Swiggy’s unified platform, with users retaining access to Swiggy One, One Lite, and One BLCK membership benefits across both apps. An Instamart-first shortcut is already available on the Android PlayStore.

This development follows Swiggy’s pattern of maintaining both unified and standalone offerings, similar to its approach with Dineout, the restaurant reservation service it acquired and integrated into its main app while keeping it as a separate application. The company, which works with over 200,000 restaurants across 680+ cities for food delivery, continues to expand its multi-service strategy in the convenience delivery sector.
