Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday announced the constitution of a Cabinet Sub-committee to address the film industry issues.
The decision was taken by the Chief Minister after a group of Telugu film industry representatives including State Film Development Corporation Chairman and Film Producer Dil Raju met him in the wake of developments after the death arrest of film hero Allu Arjun who is facing charges in the case pertaining to the death of a women in the stampede.
The women died in the stampede when Arjun visited the Sandhya Theatre at RTC crossroads here to watch the benefit show of Pushpa 2 about two weeks ago while her son, who was critically injured is now under treatment.
The Chief Minister assured the representatives that the government would always be there for the industry to solve its problems but also made it clear that controlling the fans and ensuring their safety would be responsibility of celebrities and the government would act tough on bouncers if they overstep from their duty of protecting the celebrities.
The meeting of industry representatives with Chief Minister assumed significance as Reddy took a tough stand on the issue of benefit shows and ticket-price hike of newly released films by saying the government would not permit benefit shows and ticket price hikes henceforth as `safety of the people’ would be the first priority of the government.
The film personalities who met Chief Minister on Thursday included Allu Arvind (father of Allu Arjun), actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, Director Raghavendra Rao and Producer Shyam Prasad Reddy.
