The best apps hand-picked for your pleasure this week!

The holiday season is done and gone. Everyone is now finally “circling back” and ticking off what is possibly a long to-do list in 2025! So, here are some apps that will help you get on those work calls, waste minimal time scheduling, and hear less of “Can you hear me?” as we all get deeper into work in Jan!

Krisp
Krisp App

Krisp App

An AI-powered noise-cancellation app that filters out background noise and echo from both ends of a call. It’s app-agnostic so it doesn’t matter if you use Zoom or Google Meet, it will work perfectly fine across platforms. Incidentally, it also offers real-time transcriptions, which you can later edit and share with participants. There’s also an AI note taker built in which shares bulleted action items and meeting summaries.

Krisp is intuitive and easy to set up but its free version is limited to 60 minutes of use per day, which might not suffice for frequent users. But if you work amid distractingly loud office chatter or from home with a yappy dog or a noisy baby, you should definitely give Krisp a go.

Swapcard

Attend a lot of work and networking events? You might want to have Swapcard on you the next event you go to! An event/ conference management app, Swapcard offers a lot of networking features. You can quickly glance at attendee or speaker profiles, and you can send connection requests or even a request to block a time with an attendee for an interaction or meeting at the event. If you organise events, it lets you track user engagement and gives you insights to work on during future events. The app offers all these features for both hybrid and virtual event formats. Its interactive tools such as live polling and Q&A sessions encourage deeper participation, no matter the event.

SavvyCal App

Yes, everyone’s busy and everyone’s calendar is booked in 2025! So it takes extra time and effort to get folks on board to get stuff done in collaborative workspaces. Here comes SavvyCal. This nifty app brings an added level of convenience to calendar and scheduling. For starters, if I receive a meeting request at a particular time, I can view my existing calendar events as an overlay, on top of the scheduling link, to save me the hassle of clicking back and forth to see if I’m free. I can mark ‘Preferred Slots’ and encourage people to schedule meetings at these hours or days that are convenient for me. It even lets you limit how many meetings can be scheduled on a per-day, week, and month basis so that you can actually get real work done!

Granola

Granola App

Yet another AI-powered note-taking app, Granola gives you the freedom to not have to write down a single thing during any meeting! Even when you jot something down, the app edits it for you and makes it presentable later. It easily integrates with your calendar, prompts you to start meetings, and generates coherent summaries based on highlighted points. The app’s AI capabilities also enable it to identify recurring themes and suggest action points, which can streamline follow-up processes. Granola supports multiple languages, making it suitable for global teams. Its user-friendly design allows participants to collaborate on notes in real-time, ensuring everyone stays aligned.
