Truecaller appoints former TikTok executive as Global Ad Sales Head

Truecaller appointed Hemant Arora as Vice President of Global Ad Sales Business on January 15, 2025, to strengthen its advertising revenue stream. Arora joined the communications platform from TikTok, where he managed global accounts across Europe, APAC, and METAP regions.

In his new role, Arora will oversee Truecaller’s global advertising strategy, aiming to expand the company’s ad sales portfolio and market presence. The Stockholm-based company currently serves over 425 million active users worldwide and has recorded more than one billion downloads since its launch.

CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala highlighted Arora’s experience building scalable revenue models and understanding of global markets as key factors in his appointment. Arora brings 25 years of experience from previous roles at major media companies, including Times Network, Dainik Bhaskar Group, NDTV Media, and Discovery Networks South Asia.

Truecaller, which went public on Nasdaq Stockholm in October 2021, reported blocking nearly 46 billion unwanted calls in 2023. This appointment signals the company’s intent to capitalize on its position as a major communications platform and enhance its advertising capabilities.
