Veranda Learning to raise ₹250 crore via preferential issue for strategic acquisitions

Chennai-based Veranda Learning Solutions, an end-to-end solutions provider in the education space, will raise ₹250 crore through a preferential issue. The funds raised will be directed toward acquisitions, deferred consideration payouts, and growing its existing business. This preferential raise is part of the broader fundraising plan to be completed this financial year.

The company announced its plan to acquire a 51 per cent stake in BB Publications Pvt Ltd (BB Virtuals) for ₹126 crore and a 65 per cent stake in Navkar Digital Institute Pvt Ltd for ₹46 Crores. According to a release, these acquisitions will strengthen Veranda’s CA/CMA coaching offerings and strengthen its position as a leader in commerce education throughout India.

This fundraising equips Veranda with a capital base to drive the next phase of growth and demonstrates investors’ confidence in the vision and our potential for growth. The company is on track to close all acquisitions this financial year, and no further equity dilution in Veranda Learning is expected beyond this financial year, said Kalpathi S Suresh, executive director and chairman of Veranda Learning.

Veranda Learning’s share price closed at ₹271.50 on Wednesday, up ₹17, or 6.68 per cent.
