Telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) promised tailor-made tariff plans, faster network experience and 5G rollouts to its customers on Tuesday. In a letter to customers by Akshaya Moondra, Chief Executive Officer of VI, promised an elevated experience in 2025.
Sharing “glimpses of what lies ahead,” Moondra said the company will be launching “first-of-their-kind tariff plans” customised to user needs. He also spoke of a partnership with Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung for a three-year investment plan.
“By March 2025, thousands of new sites will enhance your connectivity, elevating your network experience to extraordinary heights,” said Moondra. The CEO also said that 5G will be rolled out in a phased out manner this year.
Earlier on January 3, the telco announced updates to its Super Hero packs that offered unlimited access to data between 12AM and 12PM in addition to the 2GB daily quota for the remaining hours. The pack also allowed users to carry forward unused weekly data for the weekend and offered 1GB emergency data top-up twice a month.
As per a report by JM Financial, Vi’s ARPU will improve 4.8 per cent QoQ to ₹164 in 3QFY25 owing to tariff hikes last year.
However, its subcribers loss trend is likely to continue, with net subcriber base declining by around 4 million in Q3FY25 primarily due to churn in the lower-ARPU segment.
The report also expects mobile broadband subscriber loss of around 1.5 million, based on TRAI estimates of 0.9 million decline in October 2024. JM Financial expects the company’s revenue to grow by 2.3 per cent QoQ to ₹112 billion and reported EBITDA to improve by 3.7 per cent QoQ to ₹47.2 billion.
