Telus-owned Koodo added an almost $6/mo credit for 24 months to two of its plans.
Koodo’s $45/50GB and $55/75GB 4G plans now come with a $135.60 bill credit over 24 months, which works out to $5.65 off per month. In other words, that’d drop the plans down to $39.35 and $49.39, respectively.
Overall, it’s not a huge discount, but an extra $5/mo off each month is nice. That said, I don’t think the current Koodo pricing is great, even with the discount, so if you’re in the market for a new plan, I have some better suggestions.
Both Quebecor’s Freedom Mobile and Telus-owned Public Mobile still offer $35/50GB 5G plans with Canada/U.S./Mexico usage. Granted, Freedom’s price is after a $5/mo autopay discount and $5/mo credit that expires after 18 months, but even at the increased $40 price, that plan is still better value than Koodo’s $45/50GB 4G plan.
Anyway, if you want to sign up with Koodo, you can check out its plans here. Or you can browse Freedom’s plans or Public’s plans to see if there’s something better out there. We also have a rate plan tool that can help you narrow down the best option across several Canadian wireless providers.
