Zomato’s global finance head Hemal Jain has stepped down from her position to pursue other opportunities. The company informed about this development in a BSE filing on December 16 as a disclosure of resignation of a senior personnel management member.
She had been with the company for over six years and held the position of global head of Finance and CFO of Hyperpure, the company’s B2B supplies arm. Jain was part of the core team of Zomato and closely involved with the acquisition of Blinkit. Jain was also part of the senior management team that worked on Zomato’s public listing.
“I have had the privilege of being part of the Zomato journey and the dynamic team for over the past six years. However, after much reflection, I have taken the tough decision to move on and explore a different path, “ Jain stated in her resignation letter.
According to her Linkedin page, she was leading business finance for both the Zomato and Blinkit businesses and spearheaded various initiatives focused on cost optimisation and profitability enhancement.
Jain’s departure comes close on the heels of Zomato receiving a GST demand notice of Rs 830 crore.
A few months ago, another senior management member of Zomato, Akriti Chopra, who held the role of Co-Founder and Chief People Officer, had stepped down from her position.
